Useful information

The Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec, in cooperation with the Public Health Branches, the City of Montréal and Environment Canada are collaborating in the INFO-Smog program.

This year round program has two components: the first consists of a daily air quality forecast available through the media and Internet; the second issues warnings to the public when smog concentrations are expected (based on ground-level ozone concentrations). These warnings will be provided with a notice informing people at risk of measures they can take to minimize smog-related problems. They also advise the public on what they can do to reduce emissions of pollutants that form smog. Spatial domain and regions are the same as those of the Air Quality Index (AQI).
