Riparian strips

Photo : MDDEPHome construction and agricultural and logging activities can destroy aquatic ecosystems (in both lakes and rivers) or seriously compromise their survival. By maintaining a minimum distance of 10 to 15 metres between the aquatic environment and the terrestrial environment, a riparian strip provides essential protection to both aquatic and terrestrial wildlife and habitats.
